Mr. Smith is an entrepreneur with expertise in the cloud, hosting and payment technology industries.  Currently, Mr. Smith serves as the CEO of Packet, a next-generation cloud hosting firm based in New York City.  Prior to Packet, Mr. Smith was responsible for operational growth at Voxel, an early dedicated and cloud hosting provider sold to Internap Network Services (NASDAQ:INAP) in 2011.  He also held roles at Internap, serving as Vice President of Hosting Services, where he was responsible for business strategy, product development and profitability of Internap’s hosting and cloud computing offerings.

A seasoned entrepreneur, Mr. Smith’s experience extends past infrastructure services to include automation software and financial transaction clearing. In 2003, Mr. Smith founded MerchantPlus to simplify electronic payments for eCommerce and subscription billers and later launched an integrated payment platform that includes authorization, settlement and back office functionality via standards-based API’s and is used by thousands of merchants today.

Mr. Smith graduated from the Julliard School in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Performance.
