Bio
Zoya Kinstler is a consultant and educator specializing in enterprise digital transformation, with a successful track record of delivering technology solutions for large business initiatives. As Distinguished Member of Technical Staff at Verizon Communications Inc., she designed digital capabilities for strategic business systems. Dr. Kinstler has over thirty years of experience in telecommunications, business-to-business integrations, and multi-channel web platforms. Her business acumen is deeply grounded on technical expertise in enterprise architecture, communications technologies, software engineering, and computer science.A native of Latvia, Dr. Kinstler received an MS in economics and cybernetics from the University of Latvia and a PhD in mathematical economics from Moscow State University. Her research and publications are in general systems theory, econometrics, and management science.
Dr. Kinstler was an assistant professor at Latvia State Executive Education Institute before immigrating to the United States in 1988. In the United States, she worked as a software engineer in various businesses. During the early years of the dot-com era she was a principal investigator at GTE Laboratories where her team built electronic commerce tools, including the first XML-based online billing solution.
Dr. Zoya Kinstler teaches graduate courses on Digital Enterprise and Enterprise Architecture at Harvard Extension School. She is a recipient of 2012 Petra T. Shattuck Excellence in Teaching Award. She serves on the advisory board for information technology programs at Harvard Extension School and on the organizing committee for MIT Sloan CIO Symposium.
